I don’t know why I have never talked to all of you about fitness, because it is something that I do almost every day. I started going to the gym when I was about 14 years old, (I lied to get into the gym and said I was 15 so that I could use the equipment). What can I say? Something just drew me in.
As a woman, body image is something so important to all of us and something that is also so destructive. I have to admit that I have ebbed and flowed both ways, but am happy to report that I have found a perfect balance. Sure, I have bad days, but I find that each day gets better and easier to deal with those feelings. What is better than that feeling after you workout? You have this new found confidence and detoxifying feeling. It feels so good.
I am always trying new things with my fitness routine to change it up and challenge myself. I have done everything from weight training, half Ironman’s, half marathons to daily yoga. All of it is so much fun, but found that I thrive best when I am doing what I want to do, at that moment. It’s all about what your body is craving and how your body feels. You have to want to do it (like anything), otherwise, what is the point? I found the Tone It Up girls few years ago and follow their routines and Nutrition Guide like my bible. I think they have a healthy, balanced and realistic approach to diet and exercise. If you haven’t checked them out, I suggest you go now and get on board. It will change your life and how you look at food.
My second part of this post if about workout attire. I am NOT one of those girls who wears makeup to workout and looks absolutely horrible while and after I do it. To help my from feeling like a monster and get exciting to workout, I find that having some good workout clothes to wear to and from the gym can make you feel a little more motivated and put together. I also just wear them when I am not working out because, San Diego is just notorious for this athleisure style. It just works here.
I will continue to post some more stuff about fitness and nutrition, but want to hear from you and see what exactly you want to hear from me. I think having a balanced lifestyle is very important and want to share that with all of you.
