As passionate as I am about fashion, I am equally as passionate about fitness/health. A while back I told you I would bring you more fitness and health posts, so here we go! A few months ago, I was able to tour the Sol-ti juice offices here in San Diego, CA. Not only were the offices gorgeous, but the staff was so incredible and made my juice tour extra amazing. After trying all of their juice on tap (yes, their tasting room is modeled after a brewing tasting room – AMAZING!), I decided to try one of these juice cleanses that I hear so much about. I committed to a 24 hour cleanse. How hard could that be?
To preface this, I want to give you some background on my thoughts about juicing. I love juice and think it is an amazing way to get tons nutrients in one sitting. I do not think that you should drink juice as a way to lose weight or substitute multiple meals. Eating whole foods is so important for your body and juice is a great option for in-between meals, or something to temporarily cleanse your digestive system (it’s all about moderation). With this in mind, you can imagine how hesitant I was to give up whole food for 24 hours.
I started the day strong and felt ready to take on this challenge. My goal was not to lose any pounds, but to try something I haven’t tried before and hopefully feel a little more cleansed/pure. Throughout the day, I surprisingly felt full and hydrated. I looked forward to trying each flavor and loved them all. I even got a “dessert” type drink at the end of the day before bed.
How did I feel the next day? Great! Was I a little hungry? YES. However, it was only 24 hours and it did feel like a reset for my insides. I don’t think I will do this often, but I did decide that I would love to incorporate more juices into my diet and even some “in-between” juices with my snacks. Sol-ti offers some great flavors that I learned from my friend, Eat Clean with Sarah (who toured with me), have some amazing benefits for your body. Juice is such a great way to get those vitamins and random ingredients in you that you might not be able to get from food.
Thank you to Sol-ti for providing me with some amazing juice!
