Today, I am sharing some of my favorite morning beauty products with all of you. Your skin is one of the most important things to take care of. As a teenager, I remember sitting in the sun, all day, everyday with tanning oil and ZERO sunscreen. Flash forward to today. After several years of correcting major sun damage, I found some amazing products to help keep my skin under control and protect it from any further damage.
Before you keep reading, please remember that you should always consult your doctor or dermatologist before using any products. This is what has worked for me after several trial and errors. I am by no means an expert on skincare and just want to share some of my favorite morning products that I use every day, which have helped me achieve great skin (and maintain it!).
Let’s start with cleansing.
I wash my face every single day and night. Wearing make-up to bed is something I cringe at the thought of. Whether it’s an early night or it’s 4 AM and you are just getting home from going out. You get in the bathroom and wash your face! Being religious with my routine, like anything in your life, will allow your skin to heal and maintain it’s healthy glow. My go-to face wash that I have used for years is by, Paula’s Choice. It is gentle and get’s every ounce of makeup off.
Get your scrub on.
Following my wash, I exfoliate. I have extremely dry skin and love being able to get rid of that dead skin so my products can really absorb into my face. At least, that’s what I think. My dermatologist recommended, Sekura Silk. At first I thought, “what is this?!” It’s a gel that goes on clean skin and once you start rubbing, you see these white little balls start forming. That is your dead skin coming off! I know, totally weird, but it does wonders for getting that dead skin off. After you wash it off, you have a sparkling clean face to add some products to.
What comes next?
Products can differ from person to person. If you have oily skin, you will use something different than someone with dry skin. I use several serums and brighteners to help get rid of some melasma, thanks to those years in the sun and no sunscreen, and help hydrate my super dry skin. I always use a moisturizer after applying all my products to get some extra hydration and found that it makes a great base before applying my make-up.
Last and certainly not least, always wear sunscreen.
Whether you sit in an office or plan on heading to the beach, make it a habit to put it on every morning before you go out and/or do your makeup. If you will be in the sun all day, reapply! They make great tinted SPF’s these days that go great over your makeup. I am absolutely religious about making sure I have sunscreen on my face at all times.
I hope this helps when finding and trying some new products. Skincare can be so frusterating when you can’t seem to find what works, but I promise that with a little patience and persistence, you can find those products that will correct your problems and achieve great skin.
I am always on the hunt to try new things and see what helps my skin even more.
