For those of you who have followed me for a while, you know I love denim. I never get sick of it. If I had it my way, I would have a separate closet dedicated to my favorite pieces of denim. But, until I win the lottery, I will stick with what I have and give you some tips on how to style it. Denim-on-denim can be tricky to style, so I have a few tips and tricks to help pair these two together.
When pairing denim together you need to start with your bottoms. If you are new to the look, I suggest getting a super light or dark pair of jeans to go with the top. This will give the look more contrast, so you don’t feel like you are too over the top. If you are used to this look, pull on those favorite Levi’s or pair of jeans rock it!
Next is your top. Right now, most of the tops out seem to be a standard denim/chambray color with some lighter colors. I love having a lighter color or true denim color top. It seems to go with just about everything. This one at Madewell is slightly cropped with a little tie detail giving it a little something different to break up the denim look. You can also tuck in your button up top, break it up with a belt, or tie the front. These all give a monochrome outfit a little flare or edge.
Finally, you pair them together and just rock your look.
Here are some of my denim favorite for you to shop, including the look on today’s blog post.
Enjoy!
