I love to travel and plan a trip at least one a year, but sometimes there just isn’t enough time, money or energy to make all those travel arrangements. When I find myself itching for a new adventure or some down time, I like to book a stay-cation or in this case a daycation. Typically, you will find me at the spa.
I recently collaborated with, ResortPass. They offer the perfect daycation for people like myself who just need to recharge their battery, but don’t want to spend tons of time or money planning a huge getaway. Whether you are local or traveling, and just want to have some nice relaxing time by the pool, they offer a “resort pass” to hotels all throughout the U.S.
What does this pass get you?
Depending on the hotel you select, you can get a pass for you and some friends to use the hotel pool, spa, fitness center, or even book a cabana by the pool. This would be the perfect thing to do for a shower, Bachelorette party, or birthday event.
When ResortPass asked me to take a daycation at the hotel of my choice, I chose somewhere close by, but far enough where I could feel like I was on a vacation. This was perfect timing because I was in need of a getaway and it was my mom’s birthday. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my mom and take some time to recharge. We went to the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA. The hotel is stunning and we booked a Spa Pass. We booked a massage and facial separately from the pass, but you can just get the pass and have access to the entire spa (jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms, pools – still amazing!).
We started the day by checking into the spa and getting our treatments. If you watched my Insta stories while I was there, you saw that I was a little too relaxed and walked away with lines all over my face from the massage table. After, we headed over to the spa café and treated ourselves to some healthy, delicious salads and Champagne.
Feeling totally relaxed and in my element, we decided to use the DryBar facility located in the spa and get our hair done. When in Rome!?
With our hair done and our skin glowing, decided to head over to the main pool area. There was more activity at the main pool than the spa pool. The pool had a full bar and beautiful views overlooking the ocean. It was such an amazing afternoon chatting, reading, bronzing and drinking some cocktails. My mom had an amazing birthday and I returned home feeling relaxed and ready to take on the week.
We will be back again soon.
